Here at The Hayloft we’re all about fresh local ingredients. With our kitchen garden located just next door - it really doesn’t get much fresher than that.
Ian, our very own kitchen gardener, works hard in the garden all year round, ensuring we are able to serve our customers the very best produce throughout the seasons we are open for business.
Just a few of the ingredients picked from the garden for us to use in the kitchen are our salad leaves, onions, kale, broad beans, carrots, aubergines, courgettes, chillies and strawberries and if we have a ‘glut’ that we are unable to use up ourselves, then we offer a charity honesty box in the Hayloft for people to help themselves and use at home.
This means that whether enjoying one of our yummy toasties with a side of ‘garden’ salad or our Kale & Interesting Smoothie, you’re enjoying fresh ingredients that haven’t clocked up a single food mile!
Look out for a picture of Ian’s hat on our menu blackboards – all the ingredients grown in the garden at that point in time will be labelled with a tiny hat.
Our specials board receives regular updates throughout the summer season reflective of the seasonal fruit and veg available at the time.
